It is the first Trappist beer brewed in Spain for the Abbey of San Pedro de Cardena in Burgos, one of the oldest monasteries in the Iberian Peninsula, whose existence is documented as far back as the 9th century. It is handcrafted, with a careful selection of barley plants, hops, yeast, and water, and undergoes a secondary fermentation in the bottle, in accordance with the centuries-old tradition of Trappist master brewers. Cardena Quadrupel is a deep amber-colored beer. Its fruity and alcoholic aromas stand out on the nose. The palate highlights its silky body, flavors of plum and caramelized pear, the warmth of the alcohol, and its sweet finish.
