The Watou brewery produces a limited number of 1.5 liter Magnum bottles each year since 2012. On this occasion, Abt 12 is offered in special dark brown St. Bernardus Magnum bottles, with embossed brewery logo, 'Belgian Beer' collar, personalized cap and unique muselet. The label is drawn each year by a different artist. All works and paintings are part of the brewery's art collection. Belgian artist Christophe Malfliet is known for his exuberant action-painting technique with great attention to detailed figurative elements. His 'Illuminato' was created for the 2020 edition.
Abt 12
Abbey ale brewed in the classic 'Quadrupel' style of Belgium's best Abbey Ales. Dark with a full, ivory-colored head. It has a fruity aroma, full of complex flavours and excells because of its long bittersweet finish with a hoppy bite. (10,0% ABV) Worldwide seen as one of the best beers in the world. It's a very balanced beer, with a full-bodied taste and a perfect equilibrium between malty, bitter and sweet. One of the original recipes from the days of license-brewing for the Trappist monks of Westvleteren
